DSP Panta on process of being suspended


Kathmandu, Dec. 23
The Armed Police Force (APF) said that it has initiated a necessary process regarding to suspend Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Harka Raj Panta after he was found allegedly involved in smuggling of illegal goods.
Police arrested DSP Panta after police found him with two vehicles loaded with contraband, including 761 sets of mobile phones, 10 units of LCD screens and blankets Wednesday at Tatopani.
DSP Panta was transferred after six months of service at Tatopani Customs Office as being in-charge of customs checking office. His vacancy was at Bhandara, Chitwan.
APF headquarter made it clear that he was arrested while he was returning from Customs Office. He was arrested at Chhatiskilo, Kavre in a security check up.
In Panitanki, the court has summoned two journalists and one SP for explanation on the charge of contempt of court.
The Appellate Court Biratnagar has summoned Nagarik Daily Biratnagar correspondent Khilanath Dhakal, Chief Editor Narayan Wagle and Morang SP Pradumna Karki by the joint bench of the judges Kumar Chudal and Shiv Narayan Yadav.
Nagarik daily had disseminated news on convicts in custody released on bail by the Appellate Court on December 20.
Morang, Sunsari and Appellate Court Bar Units had jointly filed case of contempt of court. Dhakal and Karki have been called within three days and Wagle within six days, the Court said.
The court had released on general bail Mukesh Budhathoki and Devanand Yadav who had attacked inmate, and one Ajam Parvej of a case of human trafficking.
