Legislature Parliament meet postponed


Kathmandu, Dec. 27, The Tuesday’s meeting of the Legislature-Parliament was put off until Thursday by issuing a notice.
The members from Dalit Lawmaker Caucus warned of disrupting the meeting until their demands were met.
Dalit lawmakers demanded that the government should furnish satisfactory replies in regard with the murder of Manbir Sunar of Kalikot.
The meeting was postponed after their demands of declaring Sunar a martyr and making arrangements for the support to his family could not be addressed.
Dalit lawmakers were dissatisfied over the government’s decision of granting one million rupees to late Sunar’s family, citing that the government made the decision without consulting them.
They also demanded strong action against those involved in the killing of Sunar.
In today’s meeting, lawmaker Dr. Prakash Chandra Lohani was scheduled to table a proposal instructing the government to adopt short-term and long-term measures to solve the power outage.
